Dr. Egidio Farone, DMD
Dr. Farone is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he continues to serve on the Dean’s Council. He has had a commitment to his patients and a passion and dedication to the profession of dentistry from day one. Dr. Farone has been in private practice in New York City for more than three decades. He has been at his present location at 115 East 61st Street, for more than 30 years.
Upon graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School of Dental Medicine, he continued with a two-year post-graduate program in dentistry serving as resident and chief resident. Dr. Farone earned a dual degree in Biology and Spanish Literature from his undergraduate alma mater, Binghamton University.
Since 2003, Dr. Farone has served as a clinical assistant professor and attending in the Department of Dental and Oral Surgery at the Weill Cornell Medical Center. He is active in several local, regional, and national dental organizations, including the New York Academy of Dentistry (President 2014-2015), the American College of Dentists (Chair, New York section), and the New York County Dental Society, where he served on its board and is currently the Secretary. Dr. Farone is currently a trustee for the New York State Dental Foundation, a non-for-profit organization committed to working with the vulnerable and underserved.
Dr. Farone served as Chairman of the Peer Review Committee for the New York County Dental Society (2005 – 2014) and Chairman of the Council on Peer Review and Quality Assurance for the New York State Dental Association (2014 – 2016). He continues to lecture on the peer review process to dental students and dental residents.
Over the years, Dr. Farone has received numerous honors and awards, including the humanitarian award presented by The New York Academy of Dentistry in recognition of his service on the dental ID team of the Chief Medical Examiners' Office for the City of New York for his work to help identify the victims of the World Trade Center disaster.
In addition, Dr. Farone serves on several other boards.
Gene has a passion for all things Italian. He has also taken courses and is fluent in the language. He has obtained his Italian Citizenship. Furthermore, he has traveled to Italy at least once a year, every year since 1991.
